The gym with 3 walls - Part 2 (Day 9)

Today was the calm before the storm. We had a video session this morning to prepare our match against Brazil followed by a 2:00pm training session at Iteso University - that's right, in the gym with 3 walls. The practice went well and the guys seem to have gotten their "game legs" back. Then, Vincent and I had the (still) ever popular General technical meeting. Like the one for the women's tournament, Norceca President Cristobal Marte took everyone by surprise and held the meeting to 65 minutes. Who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks ?

So there is no turning back now. All the guys are excited about finally starting their Pan American Games tournament. Win or lose, this young group of guys will undoubtedly learn a lot from this experience. After all, this is what our Full Time Center is all about.

You may be able to watch our matches on-line from the Pan Am games website. If you click on the link shown here (http://www.guadalajara2011.org.mx/home), you will be given 4 stream options. Pick one and try to find Volleyball. Our matches will be played at 6pm (local time - 7pm in Eastern Canada) on Monday and Tuesday and at 1pm local time on Wednesday. Our opponents, in order, will be Brazil, the USA and Puerto Rico.

Also, if you are interested, you can catch some of the highlights from our exhibition match against Mexico in Colima on October 21 (21-25, 24-26, 23-25) by clicking on the link below:

It features the following players from our roster:

19: Blair Bann (libero)
17: Sander Ratsep
14: Kevin Miller
2: Spencer Leiske
5: Ciaran McGovern
15: Jacob Kilpatrick
11: Tyler Santoni

Good night from Guadalajara.
